THE CAPE ARGUS CYCLE TOUR BY GEOFF MONI AND SANNE
In South African Travel, Car Rental South Africa, Car Hire Cape Town, Car Hire South Africa, Local Events by Sergio / March 18, 2014
My Danish friend, Sanne, slept over and our morning started at 06:30. We enjoyed a simple breakfast of bananas and yoghurt before cycling to the city from Tamboerskloof, where nearly 35 000 people gathered for the Cape Argus. It was incredibly well organised – all the cyclists were directed into different loading bays – I imagine that that is what gigantic herds of cows feel like at the instruction of their shepherds… There were public bathrooms everywhere and even a coffee trailer – despite there being so many people present, the queues were not too bad.

THE ARGUS TOUR AND HOW TO GET THERE 2014
In South African Travel, Car Rental South Africa, Sporting Events, Car Hire Cape Town, Car Hire South Africa by Sergio / March 05, 2014
While all the talk around Cape Town this week is rightly about the Cape Argus Cycle Tour, there is one thing you may forget if you’re making the trip from outside the city to pedal your way to glory. How are you going to get to the starting line? If you’re flying in, you may want to take advantage of Around About Car’s reliable and affordable car hire from Cape Town International. This will give you the chance to experience more than just the burn of those lactic acids as you can fill in those hours before and after the race with all the site-seeing the Mother City has to offer.

THE OVERBERG CAPE AGULHAS & CAPE TOWN
In South African Travel, Car Rental South Africa, Tourist Attraction, Car Hire South Africa by Sergio / February 10, 2014
Dear readers, I cannot believe this is the last and final instalment of the blog series documenting our epic South African Road Trip! So far we’ve covered the great journey across the Karoo via rail, the Kruger National Park, The Drakensberg, Durban, The Wild Coast – Coffee Bay, Bulungula and Chintsa before moving inland to magical Hogsback! It wasn’t long before returning back to the coast and we spent time in Kenton-on-Sea at the fabulous Siyabuya Game Reserve and then visited Jeffrey’s Bay.

GOODBYE WILD COAST HELLO HOGSBACK!
In South African Travel, Car Rental South Africa, Tourist Attraction, Car Hire Port Elizabeth, Car Hire South Africa by Sergio / January 10, 2014
Last week we ended our adventures along the Wild Coast at Bulungula, which is (to me) one of the most special places in the country & an absolute must-see if there ever was one. Capetonians and Joburgers shouldn’t be put off by the distance, it is a trek, but it is more than worthwhile.
BULUNGULA – VAUGHAN MCSHANE
In South African Travel, Car Rental South Africa, Tourist Attraction, Car Hire Port Elizabeth, Car Hire South Africa by Sergio / January 09, 2014
I have a strong desire to devote the rest of the articles in this series to the Wild Coast. Not enough can be said about this magical slice of South Africa. Last week we managed to tear ourselves away from Coffee Bay and head south to Bulungula, only something like 30km’s away the crow flies, but about 80km in terms of driving and almost three hours in terms of time due to the incredibly poor roads. Seriously, out here tarmac is just a distant memory and bedrock becomes the new reality. It’s tough and you need to devote time and caution to tackling it (unless you have a 4×4) but it’s oh-so worth it.
DRAKENSBERG TO DURBAN LEAVING THE BARRIER OF SPEARS - VAUGHAN MCSHANE
In South African Travel, Car Rental South Africa, Tourist Attraction, Car Hire Johannesburg, Car Hire South Africa by Sergio / November 12, 2013
Last week we ended off our 620km drive from the Kruger to the Drakensberg – a place that, as previously said, translates into “Dragon Mountains” and we certainly discovered just why they call it that. Staying at Amphitheatre Backpackers is an excellent option for those looking for budget accommodation, should thoughts of smelly people drinking and the “backpacking” name deter you fear not, Amphitheatre is actually a five star accommodation and our private room was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities of a hotel with the exception of the incredible view – something no hotel could offer. We loved it.
WHAT TO WEAR ON A SAFARI IN SOUTH AFRICA
In South African Travel, Car Hire Resources, Tourist Attraction by Sergio / November 02, 2013
Neutral Colours: If you don’t own any clothing in neutral colours, it is not really necessary to buy it just for the safari, unless you are intending to do a walking safari where the ranger will expect you to dress appropriately ie no white or bright colours. However if you are staying at one of the smarter game lodges, many fellow guests will have the classic safari gear (in khaki or green) and you may want to blend in with …
AN AMUSING ANECDOTE – A GIRL’S GUIDE TO ROAD TRIPPING
In Latest News by Sergio / October 30, 2013
There really is nothing like hitting the open road and there really is no reason why girls can’t do it on their own – or with a good friend (company is always good and it is safer) or with a group of girlfriends (the more the merrier – and the more giggly). Many years ago I embarked on a road trip across America with a good gal pal of mine and it was the best four weeks of our life. …
DESERT DRIVING IN THE LAND OF OPEN SPACES – A JOURNEY THROUGH NAMIBIA

If you’ve ever had to endure the underground commute in London, or any other country for that matter, you’ll understand the pain. Wedged somewhere between the humming armpit of the balding fifty-something and the woman desperately trying to claim every possible millimetre she can to be away from you; you find yourself resuming a posture worthy of a contortionist as the piping hot coffee you stupidly brought with you is splashing painfully down your leg. This can go on for …
TRENDIEST PLACES IN CAPE TOWN
In Tourist Attraction, Dining Out, Car Hire Cape Town, Local Events by Sergio / October 29, 2013
Restaurants and bars trendier than a hash tag Being trendy in Cape Town isn’t simply about fashion – it’s about being seen. Drape your Missibaba handbag securely over your shoulders and adjust those haute couture glasses. There’s no room for fashion faux pas during this tour of Cape Town’s chic. The Grand This venue with its warehouse-like exterior can be easily overlooked. Secretly, it houses chandeliers, antique Indian rugs and distinct romanticism. Try a platter of line fish and tagliata (strips …
